we're at the end of the month already!!! i'm kind of running out of fav songs, omg! didn't realize i'd be so comitted 2 this... anyway! i chose anticyclone this week cuz it rocks. thats p much it hahah, ok fr now. the guitar bits are my fav, and i also like the bit at 1:38 to 2:03 a LOAD just cu it put 2gether rlly well. i've recently become a huge fan of inabakumori. but also, i've been listening 2 the same playlist for 2 months, so i'm gonna make a new one. expect new stuff next week!!
so i realised with the last song i did, that apart from my first entry, they've all been (relatively) sad, so i wanted to do something upbeat and cheery!! when looking for happy songs, i go to one of 2 places: deco*27 or wonderful opportunity. and today i chose the latter (duh). so, this song is pretty obvious, but basically its abt the kagamine twins playing a game 2gether. rin is all impulsive and running ahead, while len is all nerdy and strategic. as said in the video: they make a great team! they study the element weakness, boss weaknesses and then len's sever password, and all thru out its cute and fun. im a super big fan of the art style: its messy and fun, not really like their other mvs which are clean and cute. i like both, but this was kind of a breath of fresh air, u know ? anyway, there are loads of funny gags thru the vid, and i highly recommend u watch it, not just listen. its very fun and i *think* it was my first won.opp. song. i really hope they upload more stuff soon, cos i dont have twitter or patreon or anything so idk if theyre uploading elsewhere. i mean, i COULD go out of my way to make an account and stalk them down, but thats just so much work!! lol, and from what ive heard twitter is currently a dumpster fire anyway. but we r off topic!! the point is, i like this band, and their music is fun, especially this one.
so to be fair, im a pretty fake kikuo fan. i havent really taken the time to listen to all of their music and usually go off whats popular. however! with this new music video, i decided to do "i'll forgive u even if u die" from miku 2 !! i saw someone say this video wasa good way to get into some of kikuos older works, and i thought u know what, ur right! i will! so anyway, there are lots of theories about this song. ive seen many people think its about someone guiltripping, and some about coersion into suicide. i think the latter, with maybe close friends or a couple or siblings or 2 people with just some kinda close bond, and one is coercing the other into a double suicide. now that i rewatch the video, maybe 2 suicidal people meet and decide to go together, assuring eachother its ok, as u c the blue person eating on their own at the beginning but join the yellow person later. and also the repeated phrases of "come, come, come" and "i'll take u 2 a place no one else can go" and "i'll spend these endless nightmares with u" sounds a lot like persuading someone into death. additionally, at 3:03 u see the blue person begin to climb a ladder from their bed into the clouds. as for how the song actually sounds, i like it! im not sure if there's xylophone, but the child-like sounding xylophone thing is a nice touch. i'm pretty sure child-like sounds are a theme in kikuo's works as well, so thats a good overall kinda theme i like.
so u may b thinking... loli in early 20s?? again ?! do u like any other breakcore!?!? well yes, i do!! there are several breakcore artists i like, such as goresh*t (is this site family friendly ?? prolly not) and dj kuroneko, and i also like the needy streamer overload soundtrack. lie20 just happens 2 be my fav! anyway, im not really sure how i can explain what i like about this song in particular, cuz i passionately do not like studying music and therefore dont know any music terms. ive done it in the other songs but they're more describable, somehow! it just sounds crazy, like huruururuuru like i just ate something with stuff cooked into it. so much is going on, and i really like that. plus the intro sounds cool. i wonder where the samples from this song are taken from? i especially like the bit that starts 0:27 and sounds more rythmic.
i really wanted to do a song by maretu or skyfish66, but today i just listened to this on repeat for about an hour and i can offically say: im in love!! this song is just SO lovely. at 2:38, theirs this beautiful "ahh" that just tears out my heart! it sounds so sad but so pretty. anyway, i cant tell what this song is about. maybe it got lost in translation, but from reading online analysis (i am very bad at understanding nuances/sarcasm so i kind of have to rely on these lol) its 1 of 3 things: a girl singing about losing her umbrella (prolly not), someone losing a love, or someone losing the will to live. theres also a bell chime or a gong (cant tell) at the end that might have some sort of cultural meaning or something. im pretty sure the song is open to interpretation anyway so theres no wrong answer. oh and another thing! i listen to the song when i write these entries an this echo-y bit at 0:48 sounds really good, especially with the leadup before it. maybe just listen to the whole song lol. anyway the whole thing is pretty nice. i wonder which vocaloid its made with? ohh kaai yuki. i havent actually heard much of her before (i dont just listen to the main vocaloids!! i just dont do research into which ones are used!! please dont attack, im not a pjsk fan !!!) but her voice is wonderful. im gonna look at more songs using her. bye lovelies!!
i thought i should add another kikuo song to show that i am genuinely really fond of their songs. reading comments about this song in particular always makes me happy, because its full of stories from survivors. its so nice people who went through horrible experiences can be comforted by art. a common theme in the comments was people praising kikuo for not romantisizing abuse, which while thinking about how its sort of sad that people do that in the first place, its amazing how kikuo can portray such raw feelings. on a lighter note, the song is really nice to listen to and the art is pretty as always, and i really like the blotting-out effect at the end.
so, i saw this song on my youtube feed and i was like OMG kikuo!!!!! but for some reason, im not as much of a fan of this song as i normally am with kikuo's other songs. maybe because im more a fan of their earlier works? so i think my problem with the song is its a bit repetitive for me, and to be honest thats pretty much the only problem. but the aniamted video (and subtitle work) was so beautiful i couldnt help but put it here. the planet backround 3:55 is especially good, and the "ahhh" sound at the end is really pleasing 2 the ears.

ooooo this song has such an upbeat, cool vibe!! not to mention the mv ?!?!? the character designs r awesome!!!!!! the transition from nervous miku to fiery miku is so well represented with her pigtails!!! and also rins design is super cool too!! shes my fav tho so im biased. also, that bit where she says "go baddie, go baddie, go baddie, go!!!" works so well at the end when it turns to "fly baddie..." and she drives off the cliff!! especially since it contrasts her first fight with rin where she kind of fails miserably. its cool to see her character change after her dad kills her bunny toy AND THEN she kills him!!! the mv is my favorite part of the song tbh, i def recommend u watch it as ur first time hearing the song cuz the plot rlly sticks w u. this song is TOTALLY going on my vocaloid playlist. it kind of reminds me of seraphim on the ring, one of my fav mitchie m songs, prolly cuz of the theme of miku n rin fighting with/against luka and some others. but also cuz of the upbeat fighting feeling it gives u!! i could totally imagine some1 listening 2 this while they work out.
smth else i just noticed while watching the vid is the beginning references the end, cuz by that point len's arm is broken (from miku dragging him on her bike earlier.) infact im just gonna go thru the whole song rn. the english captions say she wanted to live a normal life but her dad was abusive (i think kaito is the dad and meikos the mum) so she runs away, and gets ambushed by sum guys, but luka saves her and teaches her how 2 b tough!! (i think its implied miku has a crush on luka?? could b totally wrong tho, but my hc anyways lol) so then rin n len (the twin cats) r the most dangerous ppl around that part of turf, so miku wants to beat them to raise her status, but she fails quickly. luka gave her a bike and a knife and she felt way stronger!! so she threatened len (who i think is meant to be the weaker one of the 2) and dragged him behind her on her bike. so she gets her revenge and rin n miku have a rematch race. before the rematch, her dad comes and tells her to go home but she refuses. so he kills her bunny and in a fit of rage she kills him w the knife. and then in the race, she decides that she'll ride off the cliff. im not sure y this is but i guess she wanted to look cool or didnt c the point in living anymore if she didnt win.

i put this one right at the beginning of my most recent playlist, bc i wanted it to be based around this kinda genre- electric and upbeat!! honestly, i could listen to it on repeat, but i don't wanna accidently listen 2 much and get sick of it. anyway, rin's my fav vocaloid, so i am a little biased toward her cover, but i also just think it sounds better! if only it was on spotify... also, the whole song has a rlly fun tune and theme, as well as the meaning. i saw a youtube comment abt said meaning that encapsulated my thoughts pretty well: "fans: we love u! vocaloid: we love u 2!" idk. the song just makes me happy. i guess thats reason enough?
